Bars and restaurants around Lac du Causse
Around Brive, the art of sitting down to a good meal is a serious matter! If you come to spend a few days at Lac du Causse, you'll be tempted by a number of restaurants around the lake and in Brive. We've selected a few addresses close to the campsite and gîtes for you to discover our local gastronomic nuggets, which change with the seasons. Let's eat!
Around the lake
There are 2 waterfront spots open from spring to autumn:
- Le bar du chemin, is open every day in summer (next to the moulin beach). There's a pétanque pitch, chiliennes, aperitif boards, fresh and refined cocktails, waffles and ice creams... the MY-MO trailer even comes here on a few Sundays to offer generous burgers!
- The springboard is located opposite the campsite reception, at the port of Couzage (water skiing). You'll find a menu of sweet and savoury snacks and all kinds of pizzas. This friendly spot is perfect for a relaxing lunch break for all the family!
⇒ In summer, several food-trucks set up on the Plage du Moulin, offering a range of sweet and savoury snacks for those who want to picnic with their feet really in the water!
The nearest nuggets
- In the pretty village of Lissac, let yourself be tempted by Le Relai de Lissac, where you'll find local produce sublimated in generous dishes. Nestling in the centre of the village, the restaurant offers a unique view of the lake and is just a few metres from the Château de Lissac.
- A few kilometres away, we also recommend Le Clos (pictured). Next to a stable, you can enjoy a meal on a pleasant terrace or in the barn, depending on the season. With seasonal produce and homemade dishes, you're guaranteed a 100% gourmet experience on the outskirts of the Gaillarde town!
Local farmers' markets
A total of 19 summer farmers' markets are held every weekday in July and August. The nearby village of Chartrier-Ferrière holds its own market on Wednesday evenings. On the menu: plenty of local produce, barbecues and planchas available, large guinguette tables and a live band to liven up the gourmet evening. A word of advice? Go for it!
