Fishing at the Lac du Causse
Lac du Causse is the ideal place for fishing enthusiasts. Categorised as a second category open water lake, the Causse is one of the most productive lakes in the region. All fishing techniques can be practised here (except night fishing).
Fishing at Causse
Several rules are in force to ensure good fishing practice on this 75-hectare lake:
- Maximum catch of 3 carnivorous fish per day per angler (including pike)
- Legal catch sizes: pike 60 cm, zander 40 cm, black bass 30 cm.
- Opening periods: for pike from 1st May to 3rd Sunday in January, for zander from 2nd Saturday in June to 2nd Sunday in March and for other species: all year round.
What fish will you find?
Several varieties of fish can be found in the Lac du Causse: pike, zander, black bass, rotengle, roach, perch, carp, catfish, sun perch and even California crayfish!
Campsite with fishing accommodation label
