A holiday in the great outdoors?
Want to find the best spots and activities to do with your family or friends so you can breathe the real fresh air? Then check out the small sample below, compiled by the team! And if that's not enough for you, you can also check out all the great deals on offer from Brive Tourisme.
Taking a walk in the woods
In Corrèze, and especially on the Causse, it is great to walk through the woods! There are plenty of walks from the campsite that you can do at any time of year. For example, you can start with the circular walk around the lake (7 km and very accessible for children) to get the legs going! The "Causse" can be walked both cool and sporty, which is why there are several routes available at the campsite! All you have to do is choose...
Le Causse is also the ideal Terra Aventura playground, so keep your eyes peeled! For the little ones, there are also Randoland trails hidden all over the area: choose the trail of your choice!
The Vézère river as a catheter
Combined with the Causse corrézien, the Saillant is home to the Vézère and offers a wealth of opportunities to spend some quality time here. With your feet in the water or your head in the air, whether you're looking for a stroll or a thrill, the Vézère offers you the very best! Are you a thrill-seeker? The Base Sports Loisirs Vézère supervises or hires out equipment for water, land and climbing activities. Open in summer and winter alike, the Vézère can be discovered and rediscovered as the seasons change.
Take to the air
From the Jardins de Sothys in Auriac, take to the skies in a hot-air balloon! From April to September, several flights are available on site: in the early morning or in the evening, discover the Corrèze in a different way! Closer to the Lac du Causse campsite, flights are available from Turenne (20 minutes away) or Objat (30 minutes away) all year round!
Splashing around in lakes and rivers
Although the Brive area is well-equipped with swimming pools and water parks, if you opt for a "nature" holiday, we recommend the best spots for splashing around in complete peace and tranquility!
- Le Saillant: the ideal spot to combine relaxation and culture. Just a stone's throw from the bridge, where tourists flock to soak their feet, you can visit the chapel featuring stained-glass windows painted by Marc Chagall.
- The lakes: just 2 minutes from the campsite, Lac du Causse is THE place to go for a swim this summer, with a programme of free activities on offer every day. Not far from the campsite, the Plan d'eau de Miel (Beynat), the Lac de Pontcharal in Vigeois and the Plan d'eau du Coiroux (Aubazine) are just some of the options for alternating bathing spots while discovering the region!
